I haven't driven automatic for long time, but what is 'forced shift'? Is this when you are in manual mode if you hit rev limiter EGS forces the shift?

5hp19 is very weak, it blows up the reverse crown even on 2.5L but 5hp18 seems to be much better and stronger.

Yup, it's the car shifting for you when you're in manual mode.

I did this once, and then raised the rev limit to 7200 then in manual mode when the rev went past 7000 the transmission went into limp mode with a code 'over rev protection'

This means that TCU has to be programmed for higher rev by who?

He's using the Alpina software, which presumably uses a different/better method to disable the forced upshift. Unfortunately, this flash is not in WinKFP unlike newer Alpina transmission flashes.
