My Ride: 330i e46
1998 330i e46 newbie

I'm from australia and have owned numerous cars before and two days ago I brought a 98 330i. I love the look as it already has the m3 kit and its in perfect condition.

I want to start to do some modifications to it but am very new to the BMW scene..

Brake upgrade, coilovers and front and rear sway bars are on there way.

But in regards to the engine mods ie supercharger, what should I do before I bolt this on? Redo internals? Are they bigger cams and does any body know where I can source some parts from

Hope someone can help me out as I already love this car and don't want to go about it the wrong way

The e46 was released everywhere but North America in 1998 so that makes sense but the 330i wasn't available until 2001. I might be wrong but I'm just putting it out there.

Went back to BMW dealership and they confirmed model being a 330i e46... I will look further into it but the shape and features matches every photo I can find of a e46

Post pictures. It's an e46 but probably a 323 or 328 which the first year (1998) was released in europe with the m52 engines. 330 (M54) engine wasn't released until early 2001.

330 has a much bigger engine. 3.0l tuned very differently then the 2.5 in the 323. The 330 is very noticeably faster. It also has bigger brakes, better suspension, a few more features like nicer wheels interior etc... 323 is the lowest of the line e46 330 is the top (bedsides m) I would go back to the dealer. They sold you a car that's worth thousands less then what you paid. You should demand some compensation for misleading information.

Yes, about 50 hp, don't know what that is in Kw, but also different brakes, options, etc. Drive that car straight up the dealer's ass! They should have known what they sold you.

They purposefully mislead him because every dealer has to regester the vin in the system and a simple vin lookup would confirm its a 323.
