Sure. Straight section of road with no intersections or driveways with a long line of sight. Or a series of curves where you can see straight through to the end. What those guys did was clearly dangerous but there certainly are times where crossing the double yellows is not unsafe.

If you're driving really smoothly, DSC barely kicks in and you don't even notice it.

You should leave it on anyway (as a beginner)

Mine isn't as bad as yours, but a similar situation, inches away from hitting something. This was back in '06 in my old E46 at Gainesville race way.

Let's turn this into a "Official: Close Calls" thread, haha

Also- I assume the person who authored the video didn't have collision insurance so it doesn't matter. If he has full insurance that video is gonna fvck him over.
How? An accident is an accident.

The following is not to say at all that crossing into oncoming lanes is ever actually safe.

However, the argument could be made that a driver that intentionally drives a line that uses the whole road (crossing the dividing line) is marginally safer than a driver that doesn't intend to, but repeatedly does because he keeps blowing the corner entry/apex and needs all the pavement to bail himself out.

Your mistake is very different from the mistake in the OPs vid. You just pinched the corner after the apex and induced oversteer. In OPs vid, the driver fails to slow the car sufficiently and understeers off the outside of the turn. You can bet the driver in OPs vid would gladly trade his cliff for your concrete barrier, though. Not to mention he'd have serious helmet envy.

Wow... this is way worse than the kid who crashes into the rocks.

I feel bad for the car, but it's exactly what this guy needed. A serious crash without getting killed. He and his friend crossing the line on a public road and driving way over their limits. It was only a matter of time until they killed an innocent motorcyclist/bicyclist/driver by driving like that. I think we all have driven fast on the street, but never, ever, ever cross that line or exceed your capability.

Dude......

As I was watching your video I was like oh wow the M3 sounds nice as usual this is going well!

Then when that spin started happening I was literally like grabbing the desk harder as that wall approached and let out a HUGE exhale for you when your car stopped probably an inch from the wall. Nice work avoiding that sir.

And this is why you should track your car...
