H&R Sport Cup kit rear shocks blown

I know this is a common thing, however I was interested to see what others have done. Is there a difference with the convertible and other models? I read xi owners were replacing with E36 M rear's.

I need to get new ones and don't want them to blow in 12k miles...

Some manufactures you can send the shocks back and they can revalve (I know not a word) them for you

Here's the deal, I don't know what Will fit & what will Not fit a convertible. For this part of the discussion I'm referring to actual "fit" (Not Shock Valving), as in it's ability to physically bolt in place. So, if the 95-99 E36 M3 Bilstein Sports physically can be bolted into your Bimmer, GET THEM.

I switched over from regular E46 Bilstein Sports to the 95-99 E36 M3 Bilstein Sports & all I can say is WOW. The M3 shocks are physically much bigger in diameter, and Will carry a greater load for a longer period of time. That's what the OP really needs, for me the key to there success is the control they have over the rear spring (I Run The H&R Race). That one change transformed my suspension.

OP, if they fit they're your absolute best option.

Good Luck.

Thanks, I will have to take a look what kind of clearance I have. I know because I'm running 245's it is very tight....

Also concerned about using un-matched shocks. Does anyone know what brand is matched with the H&R Cup kits?

Don't you know that H&R use Bilstein for your kit?

That was my assumption, but I was not sure. I assume Bilstein does not supply a warranty for it... I am going to try and take a look at them this weekend and see if I can find residue from leaking or if I have another issue.
