Looks like your assumption is correct.

Solid B+. Great action and a cool set. The globe hopping and Israel's walls was pretty damn cool. Just didn't have anything totally new.

It wasn't really a unique style. Read Studs Terkel's "The Good War". It's an oral history of World War 2. The introductions alone are almost identical, about how the author was able to gather the human side of history rather than just the historical facts. Also a great read.

In related news (sort of): Richard Matheson, who wrote the novella I am Legend, just passed away.

I actually also enjoyed I am Legend

I imagine the sequel will be him getting lost in russia and following through with the book ending.

Good suspense. Kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.

The entire time brad Pitt was meeting with the Koreans.. He had to bike out to the plane and got his bag snagged on barbed wire? His phone went off and the zombies rushed... Was a really cool scene.

Little known fact, the badass who sacrificed himself to save brad Pitt by the plane was Matthew fox from lost

I don't remember seeing an AC-130 in the movie

And I thought those were pretty much all Americans that brad met in Korea.

Good try Chase.

That was an awesome scene though, hearing the commander talking over the radio w/ his internal realization that he was fvcked and putting himself down for the better of the team, was very well done.

Well then which character was Matthew Fox?

It had him listed as 4 or 5 in the credits as the "paratrooper"... assumed it was him with a beard (couldn't really see his face) as that was the only reasonably "important" role for an actor of his ability.

Looks like he wasn't really in the film at all. Wonder what kind of paycheck he got to be in the movie for just a few seconds (as a background character)

He was the guy in the helicopter scene at the beginning of the movie on top of the apartment complex owned by F2B.

yea that was him. The dude with the beard at the base was a badass and they showed his face quite a bit in that whole scene.

Matthew Fox was intended to have a pretty important role but it all got cut.

This guy. He was the Seal that got them off the apartment complex roof and to the ship. He was also seen briefly as Pitt's wife and family have been told they have to leave the ship and go to the refugee type camp and are flown off.

As stated he was originally going to have a bigger role before the rewrites. Which I also find ironic as the "Lost" guys are the ones who came in, think they'd show him more love. A good deal of that reasoning was budget restraints of course.

I looked at the article which explained the original ending... I think it would have SUCKED. I can see why film critics and fans of the books would have preferred it, and perhaps for a TV series it would have been a better direction to go.. but it would have left the audiance of the movie feeling rather cheated. Sure it would have served as a solid precursor to another movie.. but then again, so did this.
