06 ZHP Worth $20k?

http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...49178922&Log=0

Thoughts? Seems like you can get an M3 for less, maybe not a low mileage car like this one....

At 20K you could pick up a clean M3 for that or even a little less. I got mine for 21 out the door, it's a vert, with every option. With 56K miles. IMO look around some more

No to both, BUT Those are 2 things that I wanted to avoid for my specific needs. Wanted an auto coupe (wife cannot drive manual and in an emergency she might need to drive it - AND with my daily drive to work in stop/go traffic, manual would've been a waste) , and with 12k and in show room condition, it fit all my needs perfectly. So in MY case, stick/cabrio were negatives. and THEREFORE, this price for 45k miles is still too high.

And btw, "beemer" is for BMW bikes - "Bimmer" is for BMW cars.

Generally, though, you have to admit, most want the stick & cabrio. Are you keeping it at 12k? Shouldn't you drive it & enjoy it?

Picked this up for $150.

A car is worth what a buyer is willing to pay. If it's worth 20k to YOU, buy it. Life's too short to let the car you want slip through your fingers over a couple grand.

That's the very reason I said "in my SPECIFIC case".
What generally wanted was not a concern for me when it came to transmission and Cabrio - .
I don't keep it at 12k, I have put 30k since I bought it in 3 yrs, almost 3x more than that car had for 5 yrs , but don't you agree that in GENERAL one would go for the lowest mileage car when buying used (given it's well maintained and other criteria are met) - now in THAT case, the GENERAL for lower mileage is almost universal.

Oh and btw, stick I agree is favored generally - but most want cabrio??? Not sure about that - leaks, not so good appearence with top down, mechanical problems with top, heavier etc etc are all negatives.

But like someone said - if a car meets all your SPECIFIC needs, the price can be OK in that individual's eyes. I know i would have paid a bit more for mine if it was demanded.

i agree w/ Scooby.

Trying to impress forum members here with how little you paid for a ZHP or M3, or simply letting something "go" b/c a few here say "too much" (& you listen).....it'll pass you by,..all for a couple extra grand. That car is a keeper. If you like it, BUY it. But, KEEP it, cause it will be a money loser b/c of high front load in buying. In the end,....you'll still be driving it with low miles 5-8 years from now. Do the math.

That's what I originally thought, but you have to figure that the M wouldn't be a vert, so which is more important to the buyer?

I searched for 3-4 months, every day, to find a ZHP convertible with 6-speed and heated seats - that wasn't black/black (since my daily A6 is black/black) - and finally bought an Imola/black one with 83k miles for $15,950 from a BMW dealer. They simply do not come up for sale very often.

The one posted in this thread is 10 miles from me but wasn't offered until after I bought mine. Regardless, it doesn't have heated seats which is a deal-killer for me. That missing piece alone makes me think this one should be around $19,000 based on what I saw throughout the U.S. during my search.

And as for the continual comparisons to M3's - I have owned both, and in many ways the ZHP is more enjoyable to drive. Flame away, but it is all personal preference.

ZHP market values are kinda high right now, as more and more people now know what it is - and that there aren't a hell of alot of 'em. For normal day to day driving I agree with Cabrio330 - I'll take a ZHP.
