Anyone Tried Converting to Manual the Roof to Windshield Latches?

$800 vs $280. If anyone has a manual roof. .. how does the roof to windshield latching work?

They are manual on the removable hardtops. You press a button and the closing lever pops out. The lever is then moved to unlatch or latch the roof.

That I have an power convertible top, and I have a vague idea of what you're referring to, but more clearly, what is the reason for converting roof latches to windshield latches?

I think the reason would be that the motorized latches are expensive and can break; the manual latch found on semi-automatic tops is cheaper and more reliable.

The only way is to cut the plastic cover.

I have a completely manual top. The windshield latching is done by a handle as shown below: (The handle is item 12. BTW, I've never had any issues with the top.)
