I like where he tries to take music and his originality but IMHO the guy is not a lyricist. His success rides on his collaborations, if he stopped making music today the masses wouldn't even know he was gone.

Compared to most of the rappers right now, he's very talented.

because he doesn't make music for the masses. He wants to do what he wants to do and said himself he never wants to make music just to get radio play.

I like him a lot.

I listened to some of his stuff this morning.....I hadn't really heard any of his music before.....and it's pretty good, actually. It sounds original, the lyrics aren't bad, he's got a good voice, etc.

I'm glad to see people sticking up for Cudi in here. I really enjoy his music, Man on the Moon is still one of my favorite albums. Definitely not for everyone, he can go to some really dark places at times...especially on his new album. I give him a lot of credit for stepping away from GOOD Music and doing his own thing. Collins already posted most of the songs I would have added.

Also as stated he was awesome on How To Make It In America. Still upset that that show didn't get renewed, I enjoyed it for the ghetto Entourage style it gave.

I've tried listening to it - I really have, but his lyrics are terrible, his voice is monotone and his beats are average at best;

So here I go again, I'm going to give him another shot.

Try listening to some of his more upbeat stuff. Simple as, make her say, up up and away. Songs like that

Believe me when I have taste. I enjoy a lot of music (even mainstream pop/rock/R&B/hiphop derp) and I don't need my music to "teach me a lesson" (Lupe Fiasco, I'm looking at you) it's purely entertainment, though I don't mind hearing someones perspective.

With that said - Jcole is probably one of the best out there right now - seriously. Then again, I usually lean towards the more R&B side of things, but some of his songs have dual meaning like PowerTrip.

Kid Cudi was great back in the day, before he started fuucking heavy w drugs... his latest album was better than WZRD but no where near as good as either MOTM, particularly Mr. Rager.

Cold Blooded, King Wizard, Just What I am, Immortal, Unfuuckwittable - dope tracks.

Was fairly disappointed with Wales' new album, The Dream's new album, J. Cole's new album... Daft Punk is the only album I've heard that has absolutely blown me away this year. Can't wait for The Weeknd's album to drop.

I don't think anyone is saying you don't have good taste. I was just wondering what you might recommend.

Cudi has never appealed to the masses. A couple of his songs got enough attention for the whole country to notice, but he's never cared for the attention. He walked away from Good Music so he could produce his own music, and he made Indicid, which is awesome IMO. I've listened to every song for 2'weeks, and only a couple aren't good. It's sold a quarter million copies in a month with almost zero radio time. He has a following of people that will always buy his music if he produces it, it's just not an insane amount of loyal followers. I'd rather him go barely platinum on every album and he produce it, because I can expect it to be done how he wants it, and his original producing on the first albums are what made him
