It's funny to me how Christians are ridiculed and blasted by the left for standing up for their beliefs, but Islam is off limits to any ridicule or ANYTHING. It's PC.

Remember it was the republicans who passed the civil rights bill.
It was a republican pres who came up with the NEW DEAL
It was a republican who freed the slaves.

It was a Democratic pres who signed DOMA.
It was a majority of voters in CA who voted to ban same sex marriage.

Why is it only the republicans who want to force others to live by their convictions?

What about "CLIMAT CHANGE"
What about vegetarians
What about healthcare
What about taxes, etc., etc.

Both partiese are guilty of trying to force others to live by their standars.

When was the last time a christian kidnapped you and made you go to church or believe in God? if not "I KILL YOU"

Check your facts, the New Deal enacted by Franklin Rooselt - he was a Democrat.

In regards to DOMA, lets not all point fingers at Clinton. You forget, that DOMA was introduced by a Republican, Bob Barr in the House. Then, when it went for a vote in the House, there was a majority of Republican votes for it, 224 (R) to 118 (D). When it went to the Senate, Republicans still out voted Democrats.

The titles of Republican and Democrat were just that, titles. The parties are vastly different now. There is a reason why the states that supported such measures are now Democrat. Do you really think the South, which is now predominately Republican, were the one's pushing for integration?

The same principal applies to Lincoln.

And finally, the New Deal came at the hands of FDR who was a Democrat.

My comments in BOLD:

More for trying to impose and interject their particular beliefs by force of law and pain of legal punishment, ala the Taliban. Islam is hardly off limits to criticism or ridicule by any means, though some Muslims may take offense to that and others not.

Remember it was the republicans who passed the civil rights bill. A bygone Republican Party
It was a republican pres who came up with the NEW DEAL FDR did, a Democrat
It was a republican who freed the slaves. A long, long bygone breed of Republican

It was a Democratic pres who signed DOMA.Who now deeply regrets it and praises its demise

It was a majority of voters in CA who voted to ban same sex marriage. Which has been ruled unconstitutional and if polls are to be believed, wouldn't come close to passing it again today anyway

Why is it only the republicans who want to force others to live by their convictions?

What about "CLIMAT CHANGE" Or responsible stewardship of our shared environment and our childrens future.
What about vegetarians What about them?
What about healthcare OBAMACARE, basically a plagerized GOP idea, even enacted at the state level by the last GOP Prez candidate
What about taxes, etc., etc. What about them?

Both partiese are guilty of trying to force others to live by their standars.

When was the last time a christian kidnapped you and made you go to church or believe in God? if not "I KILL YOU" Nobody of any faith belief has done this to me, though Christian history is perhaps less charitable on this account.

Unfortunately, not a single one of these a$$holes (democrat or republican) save for maybe Rand Paul isn't trying to get the government out of the marriage business. I told my gay friends when they were fighting for "equality" that they are fighting for the wrong thing.

This is the interesting point. BB wants to point to history and say "Republicans did all these things." But, failing to ignore the changes in the republican party, ideology, and demographic since a number of those items.

Yet in the next breath wants to ignore the long history of christian atrocities and acts of violent religious persecution they have perpetrated.

Can't have it both ways BB.

You mean a highly documented phenomenon backed by most scientists?

I didn't realize scientific knowledge was something being "forced" onto people.

The only people that reject the notion of climate change are liberal arts majors and blue collar workers: AKA, the mathematic-illiterate. The good news is, science continues to remain true whether you believe in it or not. I love how climate change is actually a political debate
