Whatever a new fender costs and about $300 to paint it assuming no blending is necessary.

300 to paint a side fender? What are you guys smoking? They will want to cut and blend it- $1000. Or just tell them you dont want it blended, then 150 at most. Find a used fender on ebay or junk yard to save money.

$800ish+...Reason? Replacement cost of fender, labor for replacing, painting of fender, blending paint into door and hood.

I was hit. They told me I can get it fixed or take the money once I get an estimate tomorrow.

Truck looks old. You'll chase that blend all over the vehicle.

Replace the fender, don't worry about the paint matching

What year is it?

Insurance company most likely wont pay to blend paint on that.

Buy an aftermarket fender for cheap and paint it. No blend necessary. Don't do body work on that either, just wait for the right deal to come along on a decent used fender

You don't blend solid colors, unless the shop sucks donkey nuts.

Again, Im not sure if you have only owned pearl painted cars, but you don't blend a solid color. I've had paintwork on my s2000 done numerous times, and never was there a need to blend.

Guys, did no one read the thread? He was hit. A body shop that prides itself is going to do a blend (either to gouge you or to just make sure its super accurate- you know this is true lol), and he shouldn't care because whoever hit him will be responsible (well, unless he wants to save them moneyz). NFRs2000. I don't know what exactly constitutes a solid color. Is that just like, jet black or something?

A body shop that prides itself on screwing customers will try to blend it and tell you it will come out beautifully, then tell you they need to keep blending and polishing all the way around.

A good, trustworthy shop, however, will explain to you the realities of attempting to blend paint on an older vehicle.

And again, the insurance company isn't going to pay to blend the paint on that truck. Because, again, it's not worth it.
