Weird turn signal problem...

I've been having this odd problem for the last couple of months and can't find any info anywhere!

Every now-and-again, but occurring more frequently as of late, when I turn my car ignition on one of the turn signals will be on and flashing even though the indicator stalk is in the off position. It seems to occur on both sides (but not at the same time). If I turn my indicator stalk to the opposite side, the other indicator works as normal but when I turn it off, the other sides starts blinking again. Most of the time I can get it to stop by turning my headlights on... But that doesn't work all of the time...

At first I thought it could be a moisture problem... But it's been very dry lately and seems to be happening more often...

Has anyone come across this before or can offer any suggestions!?

Thanks on advance!

Nathan

It almost sounds like your LCM is going bad. Not sure how to check that though.

Weird turn signal problem...

Hmmm hadn't really thought of that, is there anything secondary to the LCM in charge of the indicators?

Was also wondering if a malfunctioning General Module (GM5) could cause this problem?

Any electrical gurus kicking around?

GM5 module isn't going to make a difference on this.

Ok so a little update... THIS IS BECOMING UNBEARABLE!!!

It went for ages being absolutely fine, now I can't get the left indicator to turn off no matter what I do. Does anybody have a part number for the LCM? I haven't been able to find it... Also, I'm pretty sure it needs to be flashed to the car so that I don't get a tamper dot? Is this true?

Shot in the dark here, but maybe the wire in the stalk got screwed up. Seems like a possibility as this causes the BC button in the stalk to fail

I'm hoping that's all it is... Disconnected the indicators for now 'til I get a chance to look at it. Just gotta put up with the noise...
