Halos... Projector or non projector (about to swap ccfl)

Im about to change and swap lights. I have depo p46's on now but plan to take the projectors out and put them in my oem halogen housings. With that said I'm about to pull the trigger on a set of rings. But i need to know:
Who has done something similar to this? (and yes ive seen soilidjake's vid)

What makes the difference in halos when using them on lights with or without projectors? (the ccfl rings arent bright on the crappy side)

Personally, I think it would be waste to put the Depo projectors into your OE housings. I would go with FXRs as you get better quality lighting.
