Recommend head/tail lights

So I had an issue a while back where my headlights stopped working. the plastic coating on the wires fell off, and the wires shorted out. I fixed that, but I want to replace the factory halogens anyway.

Is there anything preventing going from factory halogens, to aftermarket HID's or xenons.

And can you guys recommend the best companies to buy from as far as quality and appearance. I would also like to get blacked out tail lights as well, but i may just tint the factory ones. ordered black rims, grill, and powdercoating the chrome trim soon so just want to get it all to match..

for a 04 325ci. its got the integrated corner light, so is that "post" face lift?

If you want xenon lighting you can get either OEM projector headlights or, I hate to say it, aftermarket headlights such as DEPO. Umnitza does sell the headlights with FXR projectors which are top notch. Check that out.

that sounds good. Ill check those out. I have found a few factory xenons, but for only a couple hundred more it seems that i can get newer brighter ones. (at least at first look it seems that way)

i take it there was no adaptive headlights in 04?

Do hids and xenon's in the states not need to be self levelling? I know I am not providing much input here to your question but just a question from me! Here in the UK to fit these we also have to ensure and fit self levelling system on models before it was introduced.

no worries.. the lifted trucks here are the worst. they put a f350 36 inches in the air on 42 inch tires and then dont have the common decency to aim down the head lights. I have 5 8" million candle KC lights on my jeep just for that occasion.

Thanx Jake I never looked in to them properly as I have no desire for them personally, I just saw it as "HIDS & XENONS" when I was on a site once so presumed the two are different my bad!

yeah they usually dim the headlights fairly quickly, but even then, the low beams are pretty bright when they are eye level or above shining right in your face. Tinting the front window with 40% ceramic helps with the glare at least.

Just a lil more input mate worth a read in your light decisions.

"Self-levelling headlights are already required on new cars in Europe, and they're required on all U.S. cars equipped with bi-xenon headlights. Bi-xenon lights are so bright that they would blind other drivers if they didn't level themselves."

You guys are mixing things up.

Auto leveling is ONLY on OEM headlights. Aftermarket lights don't have that feature. You also have to note that regular cheap aftermarket headlights will have crap light output compared to OEM unless you use a good projector such as FXR, TFX, TSX, etc.

Read my sticky threads, it's all there..

Well I didn't write about aftermarket stuff besides the type of projectors since they are junk.

so fxr is junk? is that your opinion or do you have some facts to put behind that. just because its not what you would put in your car doesnt mean you have a right to criticize what someone else chooses to use. I have already seen in multiple places that the light output of the fxr exceeds oem bulb for bulb.
