Re: Cop shoots a dog while arresting owner

Poor dog. I have a Rottie also, and they get a bad rap because of a handful of bad owners, but they are terrific dogs. I can't imagine watching a complete douchebag shoot my dog for essentially no reason at all.

I would too. There would be no hesitation to shoot a dog that took an aggressive stance to me. I had to draw on a dog once before but thankfully it turned away.

I was also attacked by a rottie before. Almost took my arm off and still have the hole in my wrist as a reminder. VERY fast and powerful dogs

The cops in this situation CREATED the situation.
There is no cause for them to approach, detain or arrest the man.
They are responsible for the outcome and should be held accountable

Although not the popular viewpoint, it's probably the popular reaction.

Give me a gun and send someone else's 80lb barking dog at me. What's the easiest solution...

Still, the dog was the victim, the it's debatable whose fault it was.

I posted it earlier on facebook.

I was fcuking shaking after I watched it, literally was just so shocked and enraged. And I'm a person who is afraid of big dogs because I was bit as a chilld. Hell I just got my first dog 1.5 months ago, a baby chihuahua.

The cop was way excessive, fcuking 3 shots?!?!! Piece of sh1t had other options ... and the 2 other asswipe pigs just stood there watching, instead of all 3 of them trying to calm the dog down or distract it and hold it down lets shoot it instead. Didn't even look vicious for 1 second.

Hope he gets fcuked in court.

Unfortunately, for the dog it winds up being wrong place/wrong time.

I'm with you here. I think the cops were presented with a bad situation. One of the cops tried to restrain the dog with the leash, the dog reacted and one of the other cops (in defence of the other cop) fired.

It was a terrible situation and I can guarantee no one went home that day without wishing the situation played out differently.

I haven't read any reports the the dog died, has that been confirmed?

Any dog larger than a beagle is probably stronger than you are. So enjoy your useless limbs and mangled face.

watching it again, i think if they would've just ignored the dog, he wouldnt have attacked. @ 3.22 the cop stepped towards him, and thats when he's about to (nip) his hand. i doubt that would've been an actual bite.

lol, once a pitbull was jesty with me I restrained her and threw her across the room. she was strong. Just have to be quick, and know what you're doing. Granted if the dog gets the upper hand you're toast.

But again like you said a beagle is probably stronger then I am; since you seem to know me much more then I know myself. I think a chihuahua is too. lol (sarcasm)

I dunno. I had to turn the video off once the dog got shot and was squirming in the street.

Eh, I'm not going to give the dog that chance. Dogs don't understand the concept of a fair fight. I hope I never find myself in that situation--I go out of my way to avoid unfamiliar dogs that might be in a position to harm me.

It ended right then fortunately. I don't have dogs, but after watching I immediately found the cats and gave them some pets. I can only hope the dog survived. 3 shots doesn't mean 3 hits.

My brother has a year old pit. When it was a puppy, I could restrain it without issue. Now it's getting difficult. I know for a fact that if that dog wanted to hurt me, it could. Not saying it would win the fight for sure...but it would do some serious damage.

I don't mean you in particular--it's true for most people (including me). I have a beagle and a lab/golden mix. If either one of them wanted to, they could squirm free no matter how hard I tried to hold them down. Animals are freakin' strong.

Anyone remember justice for cisco? Why don't these dumb cops pepper spray the animals? Like the cop that pepper sprayed the killer squirrel? (check reddit, im not joking...he really pepper sprayed a squirrel)

I thought we had moved past that. I haven't seen anyone condone the cops' actions yet.
