How to keep track of friends/enemies on the forum?

Sometimes I'll be posting in a thread and someone will say something I think is stupid. Then I will call that person out and we'll have an internet slapfight. Later on I'll check into another thread where that same person and I were in total agreement and got along great. It always makes me feel bad for slapping my homie down in another thread.

How do you lames handle this?

It is the internet. Does it really matter? People agree and disagree.

Could you imagine if everyone in the world agreed? A good debate is always positive.

You guys are obviously not as invested in your online personas as I am in mine. That's a shame (on your parts). You all ought to be ashamed of yourselves.

I reserve the right to say nice things to you in other threads, however.

I notice when I make fun of someone for being a complete retard, they go off on some crazy tangent with me a few weeks or month later.

It helps to keep a spreadsheet handy. Mine has gotten so big that I've started using Oracle to keep track of everyone.

Just because I disagree with someone on something, doesn't mean I dislike them. If I'm always honest, and don't hold grudges, I feel disagreement can be beneficial.

You just realize this is e46fanatics OT and we give each other **** all the time, but we are all still friends because we are here for our cars. It's like a dysfunctional family. I mean I've sent PMs to people to let them know I am not being serious and I don't not like them.

Except awesomechinz.

It's the Internet. Why care?

Edit: now I read other people's responses. Guess I'm 4rd.

There's only been a few people that genuinely ground my gears......VillanovaGrad and CAG. Most everyone else, even those who I debate with in poli (NFRS, AoG, etc.) I would gladly buy several beers.

You're not real enemies if you agree on the forums.

I mean even of you agree you'll keep silent.
