Anyone Running The Magnaflow 16533 Cat-Back Exhaust ?

Like the title says, who is running a Magnaflow Cat-Back on their CONVERTIBLE Bimmer ?

Is there anything Different on the underside of a vert that makes things different from a coupe or sedan ?

Does the Magnaflow 16533 FIT on a Vert ?

Thanks.

Just take it to a shop and have them make any modifications if it doesn't fit. There's no reason why it shouldn't though. Doing mine sometime in February. Or just buy a magnaflow muffler and straight pipe the res.

Officially they are not for verts, but I imagine they could be modified for it. Since you are doing it in Feb., please let us know exactly what the mods entailed. Thanks.

There is no difference between convertible and coupe for engine/exhaust/suspension purposes. It'll fit.

Just so you know, their website says it's not for verts. Same with the UUC TSE3 (their website says not for verts too). But when I asked about the TSE3, they said it fits but you just had to adjust the spacing around some of the reinforcement bars. I'm guessing the Magnaflow is similar.

On the verts, there's a V-brace going from the diff to the sides of the body frame (under the side skirts) similar to the e46m3. I doubt it would fit considering the way the pipes slope down on the magnaflow near that area. Try test fitting it though.

I know its not a Magnaflow but I put a Dinan exhaust from a Coupe on my Convertible without any issues at all.

The Dinan isn't a problem since it utilizes the stock 2" piping. The magnaflow on the other hand has twin 2.5" pipes which are much larger.

Its mostly a sound thing. Any hp increase isn't really noticeable.

I have the top speed cat back exhaust all cat back typically look similar and it will fit. The Magna-flow I think have a muffler and the topspeed doesn't so I can't tell you about the sound. But defiantly check topspeed fitment is good sound is great.
