What about reciprocity? Anytime I try to look at anything CCW-related, the company firewall picks it up as VIOLENCE or WEAPONS.

I read it'll be months before permits are issued since they have to get the processes all figured out.

no doubt itll take illinois longer than usual to figure all that out, but in terms of a bill now being a law, it is such starting tomorrow

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it only passed the state Senate. It still needs to pass the house.

I hope they have decent reciprocity, otherwise I'm going to need to pick up a non-resident permit which is evidently going to be $300

shall issue and preemption on anything handgun. no more mag cap bans, no more chicago gun permitting. Pretty big win even though it has a huge list of restricted places.

im sure ISP will take its sweet time with the approved training and whatnot, I expect the first licenses to be issued 9months from now.

they are expecting licenses to be issued around january. 300,000 people are expected to apply for CCL by then

That would be pretty awesome if that happened. ISP has 180days to come up with the app and then 90days to approve the first batch. Then there's the whole budget disaster and where will the money come to fund all of this new administration work.

I'll be among the first to apply, although anybody who supported the mass transit ban obviously hasn't ridden the CTA at midnight or 4am.

Either way, I'm looking into carry guns now.

The 16 hours mandatory training and restrictive places list constitue a de-facto ban to me, but its something I guess

Did they make the "restricted places" list include "anywhere west of Indiana, east of Iowa, and north of Kentucky"? Cause that seems like an Illinois thing to do.

Restrictive places list is BS. What a joke.

HOWEVER, I am all for mandatory training for PTC/CCW. And I'm not talking about a 3 hour class. There are a lot of people who need a lot of training and have no business getting a carry permit until they do. This is primarily because my state's training requirements are a joke, though.

I agree with you fully on both points.

The problem with it is that it locks a whole segment of the population out of the right, because they can't afford the training. If it was free, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

True dat.

When I took my course, some lady almost failed the shooting portion by only landing 71% (less than 70% is fail) of her shots in a 12in circle at 15ft with a .22LR pistol.
