What are the levels you're talking about? Height classes or something else?

This was from my show in June. If I had to take a guess since I didn't weigh myself day of I'd say I went into the show at about 170 or so.

Levels 5 is the highest level. If you place top 3 in your class such as men's physique short/tall or whatever class you're in you qualify to go to nationals. If you place fourth/fifth you qualify for junior/teen champions. IIRC level 4a is also a national qualifier. Level 3 showered usually people who aren't too into competing but want to get the vibe of it and go from there. Some people use that as a warm up show also to see how they do prior to the bigger ones.

Interesting. I never knew there were formal terms for the different types of national qualifiers.

It's cause I literally know jack sh1t about men's physique. Honestly don't even know what the competition is gonna be. I think it's by height class but other even sure. So obviously I want to see what others look like. Doing research about contest prep as I'm writing this.

Yeah it's categorized by your height. You'll either be short, medium or tall class.

So the short class for this show goes up to 5.75" which means there's probably going to be a lot of people. I guess I'll turn this into a progress thread too:

7 weeks out

After a chest and abs workout(with a pump)

no pump

High height threshold means smaller show - not larger. If it was larger, short would cut off much shorter, because they'd be doing more classes.

My GF competed in a larger show a few months ago...she's 5'2 (and a half) and was in the C class.

I was thinking that more people will (potentially) be in my category now. I know my one friend is and he's exactly 5.75" and bigger and leaner than I am. damn...i gotta do work!

Whoa that's strange usually cut off is about 5'6 but oh we'll could also work as an advantage to have less people in your height class.

You being 7 weeks out I'm assuming you're still trying to put on more size. If so you're gonna be a beast by the competition date with how cut you already are this far out!

^been dieting for about 2 weeks. already lost 9/10 lbs already. I prefer to come in SHREDDED than more muscular...mainly because this is a NPC event so they don't test which means a lot of them are going to be sauced out. Hopefully I can be....different in a good lean way. =)

Good stuff man. I have about 6.5 weeks or so. What are your plans for the last two weeks as far as carbs, protein, fat, sodium, and water manipulation? I still gotta do more research about posing, last few weeks, and tanning too.
