Rear ST coilovers spring crooked?

Anyone elses spring look like this installed. Only a few thousand miles on them, their not broke, and installed correctly. Lately tire has been rubbing the quarter alot on one side. Thought the shock may have went, but its good.

Took this pick with the car on the ground.. Im not an expert, but it doesnt look right to me... Anyone else? Spring can only go in one way. Its not upside down, and its aligned with the upper, and lower nipple.

Who installed them? They shouldn't be compressed like that so all the coils are touching.

I had that happen to a customer, it's the wrong spring that was put into a kit. Contact whoever you bought it from or KW/ST, they'll swap out the springs for you.

A friend,a dn i who have both done these numerous times without issues. Thats whats puzzleing,,,

The spring can only be installed a certain way. Cant really mess it up.. And the adjuster has plenty of room still. Doesnt make sense..

Any way to tell if this is the correct spring?

These are the only numbers on it.

No this was a complete Coilover kit for E46 M3. Someone screwed up, and put non M spec rear springs in the box. Their response to my initial email said nothing about them replcing it. They just informed me it was the wrong spring.

I replied, and waiting for a response.

Well then they have to replace it.

ST says that is the correct spring, and that is how it sits...

Talked to a few other guys, ang their springs sit the same. so I have no clue why my car is acting the way it is. The height is the same on both sides, nothing has changed, and im getting rubbing from the drivers rear out of nowhere..: banghead:

Did you buy it through ST or a vendor? I'd have a talk with the vendor if you got it through them and have them sort it out.

Vendor, but i dont know what im supposed tomtell them is wrong, if ST direct ismtelling me it's right.

Car rode fine with thismsetup for over 4k miles. Than one day the driver side rear seems to be traveling too much as the tire is rubbing on sweeping right turns, and most bumps..

They did, than they emailed me back confirming the PN "2003" is the correct spring. I checked the install manual, and that too says it's the "2003" spring.

I'm going to try swapping the rear shocks, see if that helps. Don't know what else could be going on back there. Shock doesnt show any fluid leak, but does seem to rebound slooow. Maybe it's on it's way out?

I dont know man. In my opinion there is no way that spring coils should be touching. That has nothing to do with the shock rebound. I never considered buying ST but if their design includes touching coils (again I really doubt that) then now there would be real reason not to buy them. I dont have them so cannot really say for sure if thats how they are. Just saying I wouldnt like it.
