Glock 40 mag hold 9mm?

If I change the follower and spring on a glock .40 mag, will it work with 9mm?

In a pinch, you can run 9mm in a .40 mag without modification. I've done it as a test. Can it be done permanently, be it with or without a change of follower? No, not reliably. The key issue is reliability. The feed lips on a .40S&W mag are wider than those on a 9mm. You can pull a 9mm straight out of the top of a .40S&W magazine. It's not going to be reliable. It will work, but there's room for malfunction.

Your 100% right about that, Tried a standard 9mm mag, and then tried the 40. The 9 is a little looser since the feed lips are wider on the 40. Havnt tried chambering a round yet though. Ill get a video.

Glock 40 mag hold 9mm?

Ok did a range trip and used a Glock 22 mag in my 17, and put 1 box of ammo through that mag (50 rounds). Not one jam or misfire, though the rounds are loose at feed lips they still worked fine. Now I'm intrigued. Going to keep this experiment going.

Re: Glock 40 mag hold 9mm?

Depending on the size of the mag, you can plus one or plus two 9mm rounds in a 40 mag. I was experimenting shortly BEFORE our new 10 round mag limit. It hand cycled the rounds ok but i diddnt do any live firing.

Pretty sure you are still breaking the law if you can fit more rounds that legal regardless of how many the mag was designed to hold.

A mag change should be 2-3 seconds on a glock.

I can only still fit only 10 rounds in it, I was just experimenting with a free mag. Im going to keep shooting this mag till I get a failure.

I have some 40 cal high cap mags and not many 9mm for the 19 I got just before the CT ban. So I was messing around to see if the 9mm would function in the 40 mag or if I am forever limited unless I move.
A 15 round 40 mag can fit 18 9mm rounds. I don't know yet how it actually functions.

Another impromptu range visit today. Put 20 rounds through it, no malfunction yet through a glock 19.
