Local on the shelf ammo...is it there where U live?

Still nothing around here in Colorado....buying online when I can find the deals. Sometimes my local range has some in stock but limited and have to shoot it there.

How are you guys doing? Walmart is empty all around here.....I thought it would start to go back to normal now at least for 9mm...no such luck.

Still tired of seeing people on Armslist tear people a new one for ammo.

Again, curious to see how it is where you guys are. All the local Walmarts here took half of their ammo shelves and converted them to something else since they are empty. Wonder if that is a sign from Walmart for future ammo sales.

Our local Walmarts get shipments about 3-4 times per week for Ammo, if I get there in time, they usually have 9mm or .45, but not always.

As for me, I've switched over to shooting my Remington 870 12 gauge, I can buy a box of #8 birdshot with 25 shells for $6.37. I'll usually fire 50 - 100 rounds per session, which usually satisfies my shooting urges. I can shoot 200 rounds of 9mm, and won't feel fulfilled. Same with my AR-15 and the expensive 5.56, I can spend my money elsewhere more effective.

My shotty is more bang for my buck at this time.

Gun stores have ammo, rape prices. Walmart gets ammo once a week but gets wiped before anything makes it on the shelf.

We've got ammo but yes at rape prices. Problem is we PAY just to have it in stock. Usual markup for 40 round boxes of .22 is something like .50 for us and its still at $8 and were selling a ton of it.

I have plenty but I check Walmart

I've also been able to pick up quite a bit from people on forums that don't know what they have or just don't want it anymore

Dick's Sporting Goods has it if you go by WHEN THEY OPEN... There is usually a line in my area. But if you can... Stop by and try... Might take a day or two to get what you want.

Re: Local on the shelf ammo...is it there where U live?

I've seen shipments come in at Cabelas or other big stores that last a few days on the shelf now. But the small town gun shops that aren't very popular have a big stock of most calibers. People are all looking on line or at Walmart. They don't even know the mom and pop gun shops have had thousands of rounds of 5.56 for months.

As far as gunbot, its almost all available.

Dicks has changed their company policy to 1 box per day. It keeps ammo on the shelves longer, but you can only get a box.

I feel you on shooting the shotgun. Took my Saiga 12 out today with the sweet new LaserLyte CM-15.....use 100 rounds today of some Walmart Federal 7 1/2. This laser is awesome...not to mention my Saiga.

You have to check out that shotgun laser.....works awesome.

Gander mountain has lost any sale from me. They add a $9 handling fee on top of shipping for whatever reason.

I've been taking a bunch of pistol classes lately so I've been blowing through a ton of 9mm. However, I just order online when I find a good deal so I've actually come out ahead. I'm well above my personal comfort level of all calibers.

I've stopped looking at retailers. A one box limit isn't worth the time of trying to find it.

Cabelas has been a champ through this whole thing. Earlier in the week they out 9 mil on for $.29 a round with no limit. It lasted about a day. That was the first time I've seen a no limit since December!

I agree, Cabelas has been the best I have been able to order from. Pretty good for getting 22LR also.

I just thought that after all this time, local ammo would be back to normal on the shelves. Most ammo companies say they are at full production, where the hell is it going? And don't say DHS either.

I am hurting for ammo right now. I had to order drop-shipped ammo for an upcoming EAG Tactical carbine course because I simply cannot find it locally or online at a reasonable price. Drop ship price is $400/case for Magtech 5.56, which is quality ammo. The best that I could do for quantity was Federal XM855 at $640/case online. It's pretty ridiculous. Perhaps ammo prices will drop by September, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I've been using SGAmmo for my shipped ammo, they finally have some ammo in stock again lol.

They have 900rnd cans of ADI ball ammo in stock
I don't know how good this stuff is price-wise or quality Reedo, as I don't have a firearm that fires it...yet.

I have been using SGAmmo also lately. Their shipping is not that bad. Still, local shelves are bare here. I did happen to find one box of Tula 45ACP at Walmart....LOL...and I bought it. Nothing wrong with that when there is nothing else local.
