Need advice on e36

Basically they are selling a modified e36 that doesn't run ATM for 1800 and I'm wondering if you guys think it would be worth it. Sorry it's not an e46.

its fine...e36 website has been down for a long time

as for the car...whats his asking price anyway ? and car mileage and in and out condition... if you can get it fixed at a bmw shop, go for it! if you can fix it yourself, even better

He's asking 1800 not sure how many miles on engine. Also not sure on cost to fix, he said "It was kind of strange one day i was reversing out of my parking lot to go to work and it just died and wouldnt restart and sounded like no compression."

What do you guys think happened? How much to fix?

You can probably find an M52 for pretty cheap if you're willing to go through that labor. Of course you could try to repair it if you believe the seller's story, but you never know when buying a non-running car. If you're looking to part it out and make money, I doubt it would be worth all of the time and effort.

Depending on the mileage and condition of everything else, this would probably be a $3-4k car if it was running 100%. I'd expect this to sell somewhere in the $1000-$1500 area.

Thank you for the responses, I was looking to buy it and fix it up to be a 3-4k car then sell it. Maybe an s52 swap? Hehe
