Let's talk about XDs 9mm

I carry the Shield 9 and I absolutely love it.
Can't think of any reason to ever get rid of it.

Now Academy has that XDs 9 and I am thinking of adding it to my tiny collection.

Who has this gun and any feedback as far as carrying or shooting or whatever?

I haven't heard too much about the 9. I have heard there are significant issues with some of the 45s, but I'm not sure on the 9. Quite frankly, you have one of the nicest subcompact 9mms out there right now.

thanks for your feedback
Ya I was gonna buy xds .45. Had it in my hand and all. But friend informed me that it was a snappy little gun so I held my breath for the Shield.

I think my XDs in .45 is easier to shoot than my Nano in 9mm. The only issue I've had with it is the extractor isn't best when manually cycling rounds. When shooting, I went through 250 rounds without an issue. It's a great little gun.

The XDS to me feels like a thin Glock. Trigger feels exactly like a Glock. I wouldn't bother adding this if any to your collection. I considered getting rid of my modified LC9 for it, but after shooting one, it wasn't worth it. Plus it's fairly expensive verses your Shield.

I guess I'll go away from the trending answers here and say I love my XD9 (full size). It shoots great, love the trigger, very reliable, and every time you pull the trigger it goes bang. I've put thousands of rounds through it and never had a FTF or FTE and only clean it once every 2-3k rounds.

Go try one out, you're the only one who can make this decision.

^^ I think he was looking for feedback on the XDs 9, not the XD9.

Not to throw another dog into the fight - but how does the Walther PPS fit in against the SHield and XDs9?

I own the Shield and the PPS, both are great guns with a few quirks here and there. Since there is already a ton of praise on the web for both guns, I'll just tell you the things I DON'T like about each.

PPS

- Square/Blocky grip: I have big hands and it doesn't work for me (I solved this with a Grip Sleeve)

- Mag release: Doesn't bother me actually, but some hate it, so beware

- Limited Holster selection: There are some good options out there, but it is still limited when compared to other guns on the market. Same goes for other aftermarket accessories.

Shield

-Manual Safety: I don't have a problem with Manual safeties, it's just that the Shield's is poorly executed and virtually impossible for me to manipulate (way too small)

-Pretty hard to find in stock

This woman's reviews are pretty detailed and well put together
