Would prefer an M3. A much more balanced car.

Unless of course this was 1975 again and I was still 17 years old...then I would choose this, put a big spoiler on it, some stripes, and a pair of fluffy dice hanging off the mirror and drive up and down the street smoking my tyres, hanging out the window screaming at girls "Show us your fvcking tits."

I admire the effort put into the engine conversion and sure it probably goes, but seriously that black car looks sh*t haha.
F*ck I'd feel a bit embarrassed driving that around.

M3 any day.

The rims put me off but other than that I think it looks good.

Wondering whether they are really brembos on it (you'd think he'd mention that in the add)

I'm always interested on how difficult it is to get the power down on the road rather than spinning the wheels.

Still prefer my M3

If you are selling crack in the 'hood.... Go for the LS1 conversion... If you are going for a class act... Go for the M3.

Biggest thing for me, are those wheels. I understand the owner was making a show car, but man, I still wanna be able to drive it like it should be. So if we change that (and the shifter out since that's not my taste either), then it'd be a tough call. I think money being equal, I'd still go M3 as a more pure experience.

Agreed. I think an LS1 powered E46 is just...too much. And watching the video of it idling like a drag car has completely ruined all daily driveability and practicality, which a stock M3 would offer.

I'd much prefer an M3, as you say it would be much more balanced. It's not all just about sheer power, but more the overall package of refinement, smoothness and handling, which all complement the power.

I say get an M3 and put an LS in it

This thing is too chopped up for my liking. No pollen filter, BA bonnet bulge etc. I'd have to say from experience that the engine is probably sitting further forward to get the exhaust dump pipe back behind the engine. I think it's just done a little bit too drag car-ish and no longer a streeter really. If it was N/A then it would fit and look a lot more at home in this chassis. I looked into the possibility of turbo LS and there just isn't enough room. And considering you can get a 427ci or 440ci making over 600rwhp N/A, N/A is a better fit in this chassis

Not only is it lacking a cabin filter but in the second photo there's been a heat sheild added.. Probably got sick of blowing engin heat into the cabin
