Sunvisors that interchange with E46

I'm looking to redo my headliner and ABC pillars in Anthracite Alcantara. The sun visors look way to complex for a DIY to do right and so was wondering if anyone has swapped visors from other model BMWs? I found a few on EBAY from E60's that are the right color and finish but am unsure if they would fit. If I can get a affirmative, I might buy a set or troll the carparts.com for a pair from a salvage yard.

Correction: following lists anthracite sun visors that are cloth rather than alcantara

On RealOem, looks like visors for your car in anthracite would be: 51167902803 (L) and 51167902804 (R) with use on following vehicles:

3' E46, 320i, Sedan, M54, USA, (AV13) : Sun visors
3' E46, 320i, Sedan, M54, USA, (EV13) : Sun visors
3' E46, 323Ci, Coupe, M52, USA, (BM33) : Sun visors
3' E46, 323i, Sedan, M52, USA, (AM33) : Sun visors
3' E46, 323i, Sedan, M52, USA, (AN33) : Sun visors
3' E46, 325Ci, Coupe, M54, USA, (BD33) : Sun visors
3' E46, 325Ci, Coupe, M54, USA, (BN33) : Sun visors
3' E46, 325Ci, Coupe, M56, USA, (BN73) : Sun visors
3' E46, 325Ci, Coupe, M56, USA, (BV13) : Sun visors
3' E46, 325i, Sedan, M54, USA, (AN37) : Sun visors
3' E46, 325i, Sedan, M54, USA, (AV33) : Sun visors
3' E46, 325i, Sedan, M56, USA, (AZ33) : Sun visors
3' E46, 325i, Sedan, M54, USA, (ET37) : Sun visors
3' E46, 325i, Sedan, M54, USA, (EV33) : Sun visors
3' E46, 325xi, Sedan, M54, USA, (AS33) : Sun visors
3' E46, 325xi, Sedan, M54, USA, (EU33) : Sun visors
3' E46, 328Ci, Coupe, M52, USA, (BM53) : Sun visors
3' E46, 328i, Sedan, M52, USA, (AM53) : Sun visors
3' E46, 330Ci, Coupe, M54, USA, (BD53) : Sun visors
3' E46, 330Ci, Coupe, M54, USA, (BN53) : Sun visors
3' E46, 330i, Sedan, M54, USA, (AV53) : Sun visors
3' E46, 330i, Sedan, M54, USA, (EV53) : Sun visors
3' E46, 330xi, Sedan, M54, USA, (ES53) : Sun visors
3' E46, 330xi, Sedan, M54, USA, (EW53) : Sun visors
3' E46, M3, Coupe, S54, USA, (BL93) : Sun visors

I am seeing a few listed on eBay in $30-40 price range.

EcsTuning lists fitment for coupes as:

BMW E46 323Ci M52 2.5L
BMW E46 325Ci M54 2.5L
BMW E46 330Ci M54 3.0L
BMW E46 M3 S54 3.2L

And GetBmwParts lists VEHICLE FITMENT as:

Make Body & Trim Engine & Transmission
2006 BMW 325Ci Base 2.5L L6 - Gas
2005 BMW 325Ci Base 2.5L L6 - Gas
2004 BMW 325Ci Base 2.5L L6 - Gas
2006 BMW 330Ci Base 3.0L L6 - Gas
2005 BMW 330Ci Base 3.0L L6 - Gas
2004 BMW 330Ci Base 3.0L L6 - Gas
2006 BMW M3 Base 3.2L L6 - Gas
2005 BMW M3 Base 3.2L L6 - Gas
2004 BMW M3 Base 3.2L L6 - Gas

This site lists usage on 5' Series, but I am dubious as no one else does.

My understanding was that the E39 sun visors would fit the E46. I too am looking to buy Alcantara visors but I haven't pulled the trigger yet.
Thanks, I had not seen that option yet. I asked an Ebay seller who lists many if they knew or could test fit or compare. I'll post the reply when they do.

Here is a previous thread with part numbers listed:

http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showp...4&postcount=35

51162693603 & 51162693604

Realoem shows them as E39 sun visors and Tischer sells them for $460 each. Just keep an eye out for E39 M5 visors.

(I do not know for sure if these fit - just passing along what I found)
Thanks, I will read that now.
Edit (Actually, all the PN's I looked up on RealOEM listed if they were Alcantara, 51162693603 & 51162693604 don't and all Alcantara are listed as Anthracite a color I believe is only associated with Alcantara. These are listed as Schwartz, I believe that they might be cloth....)

I appreciate all the reply's, even Bidno's. Have some coffee, we've all been there. :yikes:

Let us know what you find. If it doesn't work out maybe it's worth just bringing some alcantara to an upholstery shop and having them rewrap visor cores and just accept that the "strap" may not be an option.
I will definitely do that dutchhome, Ithink I'll go to my local Euro salvage yard and do some swaps while I'm there to just see the interchangeability. Its free to do that once your inside and I won't have to rely on a vender (ebay) for info.

I'm still undecided, I had headliner Dr on Amazon send me some samples to compare but can't decide which matches best.

No I haven't, COVID hit, got a new job that took more devotion than the last and I started saving my money for a Clutch that started to show signs of its original 196K mi. Starting to look back into it now. Thanks for the nudge VpointVick!

Do you have part numbers for the euro visors you are using? Are they still available new?

Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
51162699047 and 51162699048. I found them available at getbmwparts.com so they should be available new, but they were $260 ea. there.

919034

(pic from web, not mine)

Mine, from the UK, look pretty much new apart from the indentation from a garage door opener on the passenger side (what would have been the driver's side there) one. I've had pretty good luck with interior parts from the UK, I think the lower average temps there than most of the US keeps the plastics from becoming as brittle over the years.
