02 325Xi manual Supercommuter
My son's daily driver - 150 miles a day or around 40K miles a year with weekend trips. He takes care of our computer and networking needs in exchange for me wrenching on his car. He seems to be getting the better end of the bargain so far . . .
Basic maintenance catch up includes:
Both front axles
Brake rotors, pads all around
Radiator, water pump, coolant hoses, thermostat, fan coolant sensor, expansion tank
Belts, pulleys, accessory tensioner
Valve cover gasket
Fuel pump and filter
Pre-cat oxygen sensors
Engine coolant temperature sensor (back of block)
Exhaust camshaft position sensor
Headlight cover polish
Intake manifold gaskets and hard coolant pipes
Steering rack boots
Seems to be a fairly nice car - spent first 15 years of its life in CA. I've had e24, e30 and e34 before. More sensors and vacuum lines on the e46 but overall still not too much trouble for a weekend mechanic.
