Finding which wheels came originally with my car

Car is a 2005 330xi, build date 11/2004. I just bought the car used, and it came with Style 98 wheels (painted black, but that's another story).

How can I find/confirm the original wheels? I tried realoem, but it gives me a bunch of different wheels including Style 98.

Is there a way, based on the VIN probably, to find the original wheels?

Chris.

If you enter your VIN into the BMW VIN decoder site, it should spit out what wheels came with the car originally. My results came back with "BMW LA Wheel V Spoke 54". You can then google "BMW style 54", and get a visual.

I have the same machine and same build month. It has the style 98s which I believe to be original equipment.

I doubt it. Wheels are generally an option item and there are a number of possibilities depnding upon the preference of the original owner.

^this. your car’s “build sheet” will have it.

even if someone special ordered wheels from BMW INDIVIDUAL it will list it.

None of the vin decoders I used gave a wheel style number. Mine has style 73 wheels, a popular style for xi's.

Thanks for your help everyone!

I used www.mdecoder.com and as another poster with the same car and build date indicated, the result came back as "S298A BMW LA Wheel Double Spoke 98". So I probably still have the original wheels. Good to know!

The site gives a lot of other information about the car, and from what I can tell it's pretty accurate for my car.

Seemed like when I hunted for an e46xi, the middle years style 73 was most popular, 2003 give or take a year. Earlier than that style 79 and 04, 05 style 98.
