Wire sleeve broken in engine/exposed wires. Is this a major issue to fix asap?

Hello Everyone,

I have pictures attached to make this clearer.

There's this cable sleeve in the car engine that's broken and the wires are exposed. Just curious what those wires are for? Am I taking the risk of a major issue bound to happen if I keep those wires exposed? Will simple electric tape be enough to solve the issue? Or is it best to buy a new cable sleeve and fully cover the exposed wire? I appreciate any help on this
