Welcome all! Here it is by popular demand. Any touring threads that you see please report them so we can move it here.

Enjoy and keep this to touring ONLY topics. Anything on brakes, suspension, lighting, engine repair, etc will be moved to the general and technical sections.

What if we are snobs and want anything attached to our tourings to stay here.

I joke....

Many thanks Jake!

And thanks to Tim as well.

Yes!

I appreciate the moderators making this happen and Geo31 for starting the thread that got this going.

This will be a great resource.

Thanks. I haven't been on here long, but I always wondered why there wasn't a Touring section.

Glad for the forum but I am not sure what we are suppose to discuss if not mechanical, etc. issues. Thanks.

I believe we can discuss anything we want here (within the rules of the e46 fanatics forum). It might be true that certain mechanical issues which are not specific to the Touring might see a wider audience and draw more responses on the general e46 forums, but I think we have a pretty dedicated DIY crew here, so, no harm posting here first.

Anything that is touring specific such as the rear bumper, lights, lift gate, interior that pertains to the tourings, etc.

Anything engine-wise, brakes, headlights, etc must be posted in the other sub-topic sections.

When my Touring went in for it's mot and Inspection 2, the mechanic (whom I trust) said that a lot of water had collected
in the area of the the spare wheel. He said he'd have to take off the lining in the inside of the car to be able to correctly
trace the source of the leak.

I did notice some of the trim from the outside of the car was missing and wondered if this could be where the water ingress
is coming from. :

I did my own (non-scientific) test with a watering can full of water and poured over the area where the trim is missing
and didn't notice anything. Mind you, that's nothing compared to an overnight downpour.

Has anyone else had similar issues?

There is a thread here on this. In my case, it was the hole where the antenna is mounted to the rear of the roof. Needed to drop the headliner to prove and access to replace rubber seal, but the clue was water coming down inside the "D" pillar, after a heavy rain when I removed the lower rear side panels to see the drips coming in from inside the D-pillar liner.
