Here's a 245/35/18 on a 18x9 et35 wheel. No rubbing.

Oh man, didn't realize I hadn't posted this in here. The Dude passed away at about 6am on February 21st. He died at home on his own terms.

I miss him.

Now my touring only gets to haul two dogs around for a while. The puppy I was supposed to get isn't happening, and the two adults I fell for got adopted by other people. Bunk is all kinds of confused, but Moose is keeping me company and giving me my shepherd fix.

Sorry to hear, man. Glad it was in the comfort of home on his own terms.

Dr. Frankenstein cloned himself after watching Multiplicity and Gremlins last night...

I knew there was room for four in the wagon!

Lol what a bunch of beauties. I bought my wagon specifically for my dog basically. I thought he'd like it more than being crammed in the m3.

Glad to see the gang is welcoming it's newest member with open paws. You should post that pic of the four of them in the "what have you hauled" thread.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Herbert the Pervert.

He was an actual stray. I picked him up from a union building in the depths of the Miami ghetto. He's a dirty old man but oh so sweet and well behaved. He'll live out his golden years in dog luxury and I am super happy to have him.

In case anyone was wondering how many German dogs one could clown car into a German touring, five seems to be the limit.

I had a bunch of pictures but it's a pain getting them resized since my media server is a different computer than my laptop and since they're too large at iPhone resolutions.

Then Apple erased my phone and encrypted my backup so I lost everything anyway, as well as the $40 to buy a cracker program that will take millions of hours at this rate (literally).

So anyway, here's one photo I found on twitter... I actually had all six of these dogs in the back of the wagon together (but only for a few blocks to and from the park):

That was actually last 4th of July.

Moose hit his 13th birthday, and despite "severe hip dysplasia and spondylosis" and that age, he only occasionally needs help jumping up into the back of the car.

Herbert is still a pervert, and still has a chronic ear staph infection and huge saggy old man balls.

Frankenstein is a well-meaning psychopath.

Bunk is dumb. And now no longer allowed at the park.

Also in that above photo are Foles, the malinois, and Nakoa, who was pictured before... he got rehomed to Homestead somewhere though so I'll never see him again.

There's pretty much no point ever washing a car when you put that many dogs in it, but I did decide to after a friend let me test fit his non-M M3 bumper that someone sold him (as a legit OE M3 bumper!). Ordinarily, that would be unacceptable and totally a poser thing to do, but I have two other M3s and it's close to matching them now, which never fails to amuse me, so I'll allow it. It's only temporary anyway.

I also finally picked up a set of 18x9.5et35 profile 3 Apexes and a set of 225 tires, so I took the 255s off the flat faced ones that I ran on only the passenger side, swapped things around, and finally have a full set... damn does that concavity look so much better. And now all three cars match perfectly in the wheel department from all angles.

I think this might be the first time I've washed the car at all since I bought it in November 2017.

And this photo has nothing to do with tourings... I bought a 330Cic and hardtop because it had M3 body panels and a nice M3 imola red interior, and I wanted the interior for myself to replace what the dogs did to the old one, and the body panels for the wagon. (The front bumper promptly got torn off and destroyed on the highway, because that's my Miami luck.) So I impulse bought (at way more than I needed to spend) a full power/lumbar natty brown interior as well as the mint soft top from a ZHP wreck with only 40k miles. Now I just need mirrors and a non-M3 hood and the title and I can sell that car to fund my S54 donor (I hope). Hopefully that interior and color combo (and the 87k mileage) should be enticing to buyers. I have one interested party, and I like him, so hopefully we can work out the right deal.

Love all the dog photos, especially the one with them poking out of the back window. Wish we had room for more dogs at our house!

Also,
That convertible looks quite nice, I'm sure you'll have no problems reselling it.

Did I read that right that you're running 225s on the rear 9.5" wheels to make them work or are you running the 255s back there?

For a few months I put my differential to work by running the OE M3 size 255s on the right side of the car on the 18x9s and stock 15s on the left. But now those 255s are on the 18x9.5et35s and have not rubbed even once in any situation (stock suspension), with 225 OE M3 sizes up front.

There is always room for more dogs:

Appreciate the clarification, I'm looking at doing 225/255 as well and it sounds like it should work out nicely.

Sent the more dogs pic to my wife and she simply responded "legit"

Had a rottie foster for a while named Chomp. He was super sweet. Here he is with the pack including Foles, who came to play for a day:

When he got a home (and then didn't, and then did again, which is a long story), I grabbed another old dog, a German Shepherd. Turns out he's not really that old, and that had some drama with it too, which included me being threatened by a cop. So I think I'm keeping him and may name him Philando Castille as a nice middle finger to that guy.

I have always wanted a McNulty to go with Bunk, but he's not a McNulty. That old plan may never happen.

Friday after midnight, Moose started vomiting frequently. I took him to the ER early Sunday morning and his blood work was fine and we got no answers, just an IV and some shots. He seemed better, but then died in my kitchen Sunday night. We had been expecting a hip-related decline that meant he probably wouldn't see 2020, but this was so sudden and without any real explanation. We're crushed. That dog meant so much to me.

Young Moose (before Vicki even adopted/rescued/confiscated him):

I just love his smiling face...

I don't know what to do. I'm so sad.

My condolences, Dave. They are family members and it's never easy when we lose them.

Three other white over non-beige cars eluded me in recent months after I received an offer to buy my current wagon. Then the wagon offer disappeared too, after I had already spent the money to acquire this:

So that's annoying. Now I have two wagons. Photos of the two together will follow when the new one arrives.

It's auto, sand, non-sport, and an Xi to boot.

But it's a slicktop. And it was cheap. So I *HAD* to do it.

I have already picked up a black Xi carpet, a well-maintained M3 donor, and almost everything else that is necessary to do an M3 swap. Having lost a second income and a roommate, which will cost me $2500/mo post-tax for the forseeable future, I am quite likely to build this slicktop into a white over black M3 wagon and then sell it. Which is going to suck, because it would be really cool to keep.

Obtaining it was quite an adventure, as the seller first didn't believe I was real, would only deal in cash (because Craigslist, can't blame him there), and was way out in Idaho. But as luck would have it, an old high school friend lives out there now. And he's a big car nut. So he was more than happy to make the transaction for me once he got back from a work trip.
