Does BMW even have a dual clutch option? The Audi should, and the VW/Audi DSG gearboxes are quite good. Not quite the same as a true 3 pedal setup, but still a better option for the performance minded driver.

The e90 M3's, the 335is and all of the new M5's came with the DCT gearboxes.

I'm just not as up on the newer BMWs as they interest me less. Thanks for the confirmation. I'm an avid gear rower, but I certainly understand where the dual clutch boxes are better from a performance standpoint. So would that 8 speed box be a dual clutch? Still seems like too many gears. At least the germans seem to know how to build one. The Ford ones are terrible and plagued with issues.

The E46 is the last BMW that interests me.

After the E46 the interiors started looking like "my father's Oldsmobile." Manual gearboxes became even more rare (and now extinct). Now they all look the same to me. I have a hard time telling any of them apart. Yuck.

I'm driving exactly the car I want to be driving (with a 3 liter swap in the future).

Having said that, if I was in the market for a new (used) car and I couldn't find the right E46T, I wouldn't say no to a nice E91 (E90T).

I contemplated one I came across when I was searching for my current e46. Two reasons I didn't go for it were the color and it was awd, I was really after another rwd. It was a 6 speed, though. Had I been searching for another e46 for longer I may have at least gone and checked it out. That dash, though...maybe it would grow on me?

Hi, it's actually Oxford Green. How funny is that?

Thank you! unfortunately I'm no longer with the i3 I was t-boned by a Dodge Charger crossing an intersection in my city and they deemed it a total loss, I miss that car every day, such a blast to drive!

My own BMW history: I've had E28s, an E30, and an E36 (not in that order) prior to this car. For obvious reasons, the E46 is closest in similarity to the E36 (which was a great-driving car) but with more refinement. But not so refined so as to dilute the driving experience, which is why I love it so.

I've also found the perfect balance in the e46, so much fun to drive, yet still refined enough where it's a phenomenal daily, currently only 83,300 on the dash of this car as well, hoping to triple that number haha

Looks like that left front suspension is busted. Recommend the poly mounts if you are DIY. No press required to install.
