My first E46!

Hey guys this is my first post on this forum as I recently purchased a 330i ZHP with high mileage (206k when bought earlier this year now around 210K). I was just looking for some input on what the best modifications are for these cars as well as the much needed preventative maintenance lol. Thanks for any responses!

These are great carsto drive but do need maintenance at age. Do you have vehicle history? Check the forum stickies for a good starting place. Given the wide range of vehicle history, failures/required maintenance are fairly predictable. Personally recommend getting everything running like factory and then visual mods that make you happy. Enjoy!

Yes the gentleman I purchased the vehicle from had paper work back to 2007 when he had purchased it used with around 33k mile. He had put a lot of work into the car and that gave me confidence with it being a higher mileage example. The only 'major' thing I've had to replace has been a power steering rack that was leaking internally. Along with that I replaced the rest of the ps hoses, ps reservoir, motor/trans mounts, ECS Tuning level 1 cooling system refresh kit, threw some new Meyle rotors w Akebono pads on the front it needed, and a couple other things here and there. I'm thinking the diff mounts need to be replaced too because I get a noticeable light clunk from the rear end whenever i'm either in a gear (especially holding out the revs) and I let off the gas, or when i'm shifting as I let out the clutch.

Hello and welcome to the forum! That looks awesome!

By the way, just in case anyone's interested. My cousin Joe has a few cat beds for sale. If anyone's interested, feel free to PM me.

Thank you very much! Coming from a 98 Acura Integra, it is certainly a step up in just about every regard.

Some intervals to pay attention to. Try to figure out when these were changed - if they are older replace:

Fuel filter - 60k
O2 sensors - 125k
CCV - 100k
Fuel pump -125k
Vacuum lines and intake boots - 150k or 15years
MAF - 150k

Get OBD Fusion and check your emissions-related codes and your long term fuel trims.
