Hope you stocked up on alcohol. You're going to need it once the baby arrives

Happy Father's day guys. All your work on cars has inspired me to start changing my own oil again and other things. Changed out the cabin air/engine filter on wife's car and lived it. Brought back memories

definitely get tires!
they are the only thing keeping you on the ground
Purple is low intermediate which is what I'm thinking of running. I'd probably get lapped by dudes if I went high intermediate lol.

what tires were you running on your spare set? or you drove on what your street? you have a baffle in the oil pan for fuel starvation or running a stock m54 minus the the belt snail?
Been running 2yr old super sports that I use on the street.
No baffle and not sure what the belt snail is - what is it? It ran pretty well except when I got to 1/8 tank - it started stalling on turns.

Next time, I'll fill the tank...I can't believe how much fuel it went through lol. Probably burnt over a 1/4 tank per session.
Thinking of running Potenza RE-71Rs street/track.

Expensive hobby!

RE-71R tires are very sticky
not too expensive
but annoyingly noisy if you want to use for street use

i previously bought a set of apex Arc-8 wheels that came with RE-71R tires
used them on my f30 328i
sold the tires separately and threw on michelin pilot sport 4s
the RE-71 is probably better if dedicated for track use but the mps4s are more than capable for occasional track use and way better on the street

Belt snail = supercharger, makes sense for fuel starvation issues. I see a fuel pump upgrade in your future lol. re's are nice not as nice as super sports for the money I like hankook bit more budget friendly and 95% the performance of the super sports which is noe than enough for track fun.

Depends I have quite the variety of flavors...if you want a solid "man" flavor I'd go with lagavullin 16. It's a classic smokie peaty scotch that isn't harsh. If you want something easy to drink I have a balvenie 15 Caribbean cask. They finish the aging in rum barrels to add some sweetness which is a nice little surprise on the palette. A great budget (under$50) is glenfiddich solera reserva, it's a "blend" but with each vintage they can have unique flavors so even between the two bottles I have at home you can some distinct differences in flavor

Cool. Iíll check them out. This is the first time in using a machine shop and I love my e46. Gotta keep her running good.

It all started with a lifter job, and itís led to a stripped stud hole requiring a timesert in the cylinder head. Luckily, I havenít had any signs of head gasket issues, so Iím hoping this will be an easy one with no surprises. I read of a fellow fanatic that rents out his timesert kit and if the shop isnít within a decent range, I may need to try that route.
