2019 INPA E46 M3 SMG Software/Seller?

It's been a while since I've been on this forum. Quick backstory, I totally replaced my diff and all of the rear components from the ground up. For the first day it started to drive fine, all of a sudden the SMG can only go into reverse and second.

Things to note: Clutch replaced 8k miles ago, Gear Position sensor replaced and all synchros. Diff replaced, rear arms and all components, issues start the next day.

Before I change the SMG pump I'd like to run an [ INPA SMG test ] Being as the car is immobile- I'd much rather do it in the comfort of my home.

Steps to take:

Ok spot on......once its all installed and running these are the steps you need to take :

Make sure the car is stone cold and parked up on level ground for these tests for best results.

1. Plug car into laptop, open INPA and turn the car ignition on but dont start it.
2. Press F9 to open special tests.
3. Double click on 'SMG Adaptation for Sequential M-Gearbox'.
4. Press F1 then F8 to bleed gearbox actuator and let it run through the test.
5. Press F2 then F8 to bleed the clutch and let it run through the test.
6. Press F3 then F8 to start a complete adaptation and let it run through the program (takes quite a while so make sure your battery is good or you have a power pack on it)

And that is the SMG Adaptations all done.

Question is now...

Which seller on ebay has adequate cable/software in 2019?

This seller has the highest feedback/sold for this job. And the "banana" CD looks familiar.. before I purchase is this the correct one to get in 2019?

Cheers.

Looking for the same answers.
I've ordered an ebay cable with the switch (If i'm right it's for the double K line we need on our E46's), and the one I got didn't have it.

So I went with the bimmergeeks pro cable. Can't give you review as I don't have it, but seems promising.

But even if their software was easy to install, codes are in german... Looking to get the full english version with an easy to install interface. Wish a more user friendly software was out there for guys like me who are not really computer pros.

Yeah it's pretty tedious. I can't copy / paste the content, so I have to write it down or print it and then rewrite it in google. Maybe you have other suggestions.

Yeah not a computer geek here lol

If you have a snark phone, you could use the app and type it while the error code is displayed in front of you. The app does also have this "live translation" feature which uses the camera to do it but it isn't super accurate yet

Well I see PA soft in the link you shared. That's the kind of program i'm looking for, seems easy to use and you can do coding. Will it work with any cable or it specifically need the black box that comes with it on the vendor site?

Hi armenh7,

I am trying to reset my SMG values Since I installed the new gear position sensor. Unfortunately, my inpa version does not contain the option to do it. I think that the version I have is 1.0.
could you share your software so I can try here?

Cheers

Hi nikzbord, would you be able to share your inpa? I am running a version that don't have this option. After changing the GPS my car now engages 1 3 5 and reverse. I would appreciate any help.

cheers

I have two versions listed. If the first version doesn't work, try out the "special tests" one

I finally got it to work and the second version has the msg adaptations on it!!
I will go find a battery charger to run it. My battery is ok but I am not sure of how long it will take.

Once again thank you very much!!
