Short term cash savings - where are you putting your money?
if i want to put away about $30-50k for 6 month to 1 year
for the best and safest return what do you recommend? c/d of some sort? some real estate tied investment vehicle? que?

Money markets are another good option from what I've read. Low volatility with a better return than most CDs or saving accounts.
