Uh oh...Refinishing the style 73's...myself
I've never refinished a wheel before, so after watching some YouTube vids I decided to give it a shot. Here's my progress so far.
I hand sanded the wheel with 120grit, filled the gouges with Bondo, sanded again with 120, then 220, then 320. Applied two coats of self etching primer and am now in the process of black plastidipping. I decided to plastidip since it's (supposedly) easy to remove and I've never had black wheels. If I don't like it, I'll remove it and then paint with titanium silver and reclear. I still have two more coats of plastidip to do on this wheel. Thoughts? Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk |

Thanks graystorm. Attached is the final product: 4 coats of black dip, and 1 coat of glossifier.
Now to decide if I do the rest. Decisions, decisions. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk Last edited by slo4dor; 01-03-2019 at 09:24 AM. Reason: Grammar |
