Go to the Avin support forum. They have a firmware update for the old dongles and updates for the app.
Can you check the voltage reported by ibus app and the voltage on android top bar if they match?

Sure thing paraklas.

Not running the voltage on the status bar shows 12.3V and the app reports 12.7V.

Running the voltage on the status bar shows 13.6V and the app reports 14.0V.

So mine seems to have a .4V discrepancy.

Check box in Avant-4 Settings/Car/Extra settings. Scroll to the bottom and select the check box for displayed battery voltage to on.

I have my options as:
  • External Microphone
  • iGo offline maps in microSD card
  • iBus adapter in USB1
  • DDVR-CAM2 dual front and rear camera recording with lane departure and collision avoidance warnings in USB2
  • WCPAA Wireless CarPlay / A-Auto - USB Adapter in USB3
  • USB AUX 3RCA accessory input extension cable connected to USB3 for connection extension to CarPlay Box ending up at cigarette lighter so the USB is easy to get to. The 3.5mm jack to RCA (video/audio left and right) on the same cigarette lighter plug goes to AV IN.

Got unit wired and so far OK. TPMS up and working nicely. Having the same issue previously described with Wi-Fi not automatically connecting, even with the settings set to do so. Two issues:

1. I got the IBUS adapter with the "paid license". Gave AVIN my VIN when I ordered this. What else do I need to display the info like in the pics above? And does that cost more money? Does it matter which of the 3 USBs the adapter is connected to?

2. The Wi-Fi tether from the phone works fine (lack of auto-connect notwithstanding). How do I get USB tethering to work?

Did you download and install the iBus app on your Avin Avant-4? That should be all you need if you already bought the OBC license. 2.1.3 is the current version.

I am not sure about USB tethering but I am assuming you want internet access from your phone through the USB cable. I could be wrong but the only way that will happen is with the CarPlay / Android Auto USB adapter.

I got a chance today to install the AVIN WCPAA Wireless CarPlay / Android Auto module today in my Avant-4 and works it works flawlessly. Connection to my Samsung Android is still USB only (Google has not released Wireless Android Auto for any phones other than Pixel) but the wife's iPhone 8 connects automatically as soon as she gets in the car with no cables.

So....I have a Google Pixel. Can I use Android auto without this USB adapter?! My local Target is less than a mile away, but I am sure I could use that to go other places!

I think Google will need to standardize the Wireless Android Auto before the app developers will accommodate us. Here is a screenshot of the setup within the AutoPlay app in our Avant-4. Notice no selection for Wireless Android Auto

OKay got the IBUS adapter working. Questions:
1. How do you get the oil temp to show?
2. Any reason that my AC doesn't work now? The fan blows fine, but no cold air. Is that anything to do with this new IBUS, or just coincidence?

1. Oil temperature is not sent over on the iBus (it is on CAN bus from DME) so it will not work. From iBus website: E46, E83, E85: An indication of the oil temperature is not readily available, only with ekombi or Deep OBD (R6 only)
2. Must be coincidence. No reason HVAC to have changed due to iBus adapter.

You can remove the oil temp value from the OBC screen by press and hold value and an add or remove icon shows up on the bottom. I rearranged all my values on my OBC screen to my preference. Just press, hold and drag.

Cool. What about the horsepower reading? Mine just has a line.

Go into the setup in the settings menu of the iBus app and fill in all the necessary values for calculations.

Thank you!. Last question: when I installed the unit, the steering wheel buttons worked fine. After getting the IBUS up and running, now they are not. Other than installing that, the only thing I've done that could have caused a problem was to go exploring the factory settings. What settings should be in the CANBUS window? I might have inadvertently touched/changed something........

Make sure you don't have any settings in the iBus app for steering wheel switches. Here is my CANBUS screen.

Got it. That works. I'd checked off something in the IBUS screen.

I lied. That was the next-to-last question:
Does anyone know how to map the buttons to specific apps? Can that be done?

Haven't done it myself but maybe others have and will chime in.

Got my issue resolved. In my case, I identified the specific wi-fi as metered or unmetered rather than leaving it for it to decide. Connects right away the moment it is in range.
