Make no mistake, even though people watch less traditional TV these days, the adds are more sophisticated than ever. I'd say the majority of stuff you read online is an add of some sort. Product placement on TV shows and movies, even the "reviews" people watch on youtube are bought and paid for by various companies. Then there are the Instagram posts by "influencers" seen by the millions. The other poster got it right, they got this stuff down to a science.
