2003 325xi Center Support Bearing & Guibo - Lessons Learned

I just replaced the centre support bearing and guibo/flex disc on my '03 325xi and thought I'd share a lesson learned. Specifically, to ensure you are lining up the two shafts during re-assembly in the EXACT same spot.

My car had two white dots on each of the two shafts which I lined up by eyeball but after re-assembly and road test, there was a vibration in the shaft. I had to completely disassemble everything again and turn the shaft only 1-spline which eliminated the vibration. So, although the white dots from the factory are helpful if I were to do it again I would scribe a mark EXACTLY where the two shafts connect. There's several steps to disassemble and replace the bearing and it is time consuming so you don't want to do it three times like I did before I was re-aligned.
