I'd recommend an AVIA test disc for that and picture calibration. You can find them at Best Buy.

Ya, I have it.

BTW, I also just switched from Cox Standard Cable to Dish Network today. 200 channels total, 100 HD channels. They're coming out to install it on Sat. Got a great deal. No activation fee, free install, free HD receiver, $25 the first month, and $47.99 each month after that.

We rarely get severe storms here. Summer time has a lot during the days, but I don't really watch TV during the day anyways. I mostly just want it for football season.

Good news and bad news.

Worked on it a bit last night, mullenite came over to help. We mocked the projector up to the ceiling and realized there's no stud where we wanted to mount it...and that even if we raised the ceiling fan almost flush with the ceiling, it was STILL in the way. Sadly, because of this, I had to nix the ceiling mount idea. Instead, we decided to keep it where it currently is on the counter, and just secure it in place...while drilling a hole to run the wiring down. So that decided, we began to begin taping off the wall for the screen. We set the projector where I wanted it, and used the blue screen at 16:9 as a guide.

See what I mean with the fan?

It's a mess of wiring for now. I bought a couple wire raceways to hide them, and we're going to run them up through the counter directly underneath the projector.

Tonight, I went out to Best Buy and bought a new stand for all my receivers, game consoles, etc. We took apart the old one, and this is the mess we have to reorganize.

The new stand has 3 stepped tiers and a glass top. The best though? Built in brackets on the rear panel that have holes in them to hold zip ties. (Cameo by Baxter)

We also finished taping off the screen. Going to sand it down some (smooth it out and to get the plaster patching even), then paint.

That's it for tonight. My living room is a mess right now. I'm aiming to get it somewhat together before Saturday, that's when my Dish Network gets installed.

It's not stained, just dust and crap built up because it's difficult to clean underneath that old stand. It's going to get cleaned up.
