I'm hoping to be able to find a Suomi mag or two before Monday so I can go shoot it on the holiday. If not, who knows when I'll be able to take it out.

Dang, trying to think of where you might get one. I can't imagine many LGSs having one.

I'll give it a little thought. If I had one, I'd overnight it to you so you could go have some fun.

You could of course order some and pay for priority/2 day shipping.

My LGS, while overpriced, tends to have some off the wall stuff. I'll probably drop by there tomorrow. Drums are easy to find, but the k model needs sticks because of the short length. And the sticks are pricey. Apparently shockwave technology is working on putting out a 50-round stick mag based on the Suomi, they just don't have it out yet

No luck, and I missed the mail yesterday (delivered five minutes after we left the house who the fvck delivers mail at 630 on Saturday?) so I'll have to pick it up at the post office Tuesday.

So 41p is officially a "GO".

I wrote a summary up of it for a few gun websites. I think it's mostly right, based on a fairly quick perusal of it all. Full details here.

1). Enforcement begins 180 days from date of publication, which if it was Jan 4th, is July 2nd.

2). A new class of "responsible persons" has been created. For trusts, this is a settlor of a new trust, trustee, or co-trustee. It is NOT a beneficiary or a successor trustee. The latter don't have powers to add/remove assets or otherwise govern the trust and/or corp. The successor trustee's power only vests upon death or resignation of the current trustee. The beneficiary alone is never entitled to govern the trust, or add or subtract to it. It is merely for their benefit.

3). "Responsible persons" will have to submit their fingerprints and pictures ONLY UNDER TWO CIRCUMSTANCES. 1).MAKING a new NFA firearm and 2)BUYING an NFA firearm. The new requirements apply only to the TRANSFEREE, NOT the TRANSFEROR.

4). Enforcement is NOT retroactive. That is to say, if you don't buy or make anything (your collection remains the same as it always has been), you don't have to do anything. You don't need to submit this stuff simply because you own it. It's only when you file a new form.

5). There is a provision that allows for certifying that nothing about your trust has changed within 24 months of your last approved form. This applies after you've completed a form under the new rule and have submitted fingerprints and pictures already. It's unclear if this will apply to the photograph submission IMO, because you can't certify that the picture on file was taken within the past year if it hasn't been.

6. The CLEO sign-off requirement has been eliminated for everyone, including individuals. What is instead required is that you NOTIFY your CLEO that you have submitted an application. How this notification is to take place isn't yet specified as far as I can see.
