can FCP Euro be trusted? Looking at a TPS

according to the description:

This OEM throttle position sensor is manufactured by AB Elektronic who is the OE supplier for BMW on this application. The BMW trademarking has been dremeled off and the BMW parts number label has been removed.

https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...la-13637840383

Their price is less than half of what ECS are asking for an OEM sensor.

Many here, including me, trust FCP Euro. I've bought parts from it for many years...always correct (except for when 'I' ordered the wrong part).

You're in the EU? I'd think you can find the part cheaper locally after factoring in shipping costs, but maybe not?

When the logo is ground off, that means that it is the same part that is sold under Genuine BMW. Rather than the OE manufacturer create another part without the logo, they grid it off. It's then sold under their name at a greatly reduced price.

Similar to this final stage resistor where the BMW logo's been sharpied out.

Yes, they are the most trustworthy BMW parts vendor in the United States. I don't know if they ship to Europe.

That is an original BMW part, you can see the top section had the BMW logo/info etched out

There was another thread about FCP recently that explained their business practices and reliability. My expansion tank came from them marketed as a Modine, I compared it to the original and it was the same with the logo ground off and the label torn.

90% of the time when one buys a OEM part with the BMW logo ground off it's the real deal.
However there are times.... when a part or batch didn't pass QC by BMW acceptance. Sometimes those parts find their way into the aftermarket.

I wrote at length a time ago about counterfeit parts from India and cleverly ground off BMW logos.

Keep in mind that Behr (as an example) is a OEM mfr. There is a world of difference (no pun intended) between a OEM part produced in the EU VS: that of one made in China.
Then there's the intentional misinformation by type association. Many will show a Valve Cover gasket for the E46 as being OEM when it's from Elring. Yes Elring is an OEM for MANY E46 parts, however the VC Gasket for your car is made by Bruss or Mahle.
Not to be confused with Meyle.

can FCP Euro be trusted? Looking at a TPS

I just installed a new HELLA tb from fcp. Works perfectly and car definitely runs better

Plus you can’t beat their lifetime replacement policy

Plus the ‘Made in W. Germany’ embossing helps with the validation, at least in my mind. FCPEuro has always been a standup supplier for me, as well.

I've spent hundreds upon hundreds of dollars on parts with FCP Euro. Even bent a 2 week old Bilstien B6 strut which the replaced (free) without blinking... So to answer your question, a resounding YES - 100% trust!

I've ordered from FCP Euro and I haven't had an issue with anything I've received from them. I haven't used their lifetime replacement policy for parts yet.

FCP Euro is the best BMW parts vendor I've dealt with. Only one with a lifetime warranty on the parts they sell.
