Yeah, no problem. Do you already have a Windows XP or 7 VM running on the Mac?

The only difference from an update during the actual update process is you manually enter the assembly number (ZUSB) instead of letting WinKFP decide it automatically.

Do you know what version number you want to flash in?
Hint: you can find it on bmwfans.info under the DME section. Just choose Eur for the region on the main page.
I'm thinking if my car is flashed to a euro tune, that will increase the speed limiter to 155, maybe gain a few hp, loose the ability to run 87, 89 octane, and the emission systems will still be active (EURO IV). What do you think?

I have heard similar claims, but cannot attest to the gains myself.

Could you recompile for a manual swap?

Recompile? Not sure what that means...

Flashing the DME isn't necessary after an AT to MT swap from the threads I have read. I think you just do coding to reconfigure the car to MT.

I'll get my info later today and hopefully you can tell me if I'm due for an update. Have been experiencing a jerk right before coming to a stop, read that EGS update fixes this, that's if is not trans/converter issues.

Will the ECU reset monitors after an update? Im due for emission testing so just wondering.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Post the assembly numbers for the DME and EGS and I will look them up in the daten files for newer versions. Also post your car's model and production date.

You need to manually reset adaptations using INPA, PA Soft BMW Scanner 1.4, etc., either before or after updating. You may need to attempt starting, clear codes, reset adaptations, a few times after updating. But yeah, it will clear the emissions monitors.

Okay, no problem. It's easy enough to test the software configuration with INPA before attempting any update with WinKFP though. So keep that in mind.

Close, but not the correct lines from the log file. You want the stuff under the # USER INFO FIELDS section.
