Has anyone had any piriformis muscle pain before?
It's a muscle in your gluteal region.. The pain spreads throughout your leg and lower back. It started last year after doing deadlifts. I'm 6'3 and have always tried to maintain proper form, but I ended up hurting myself and been in pain ever since.
Been to doctors, chiropractors, had all kinds of massages... resulted in temporary relief. I've been stretching daily, using foam rollers, tennis balls to squeeze out the muscle and still no help, it actually makes the pain worse the next day.
X-rays show my hip is a little misaligned, but it's the piriformis muscle that's causing most of the pain. Despite doing yoga and core exercises, the pain still exists. The only thing I can think of now is getting a cortisone injection to see if that would help repair the muscle because nothing else is helping.
Has anyone else ever experienced piriformis syndrome? It's literally a pain in the ass

Are you sure it's a Piriformis issue and not Sciatica due to a herniated disc?
Both can result in the same symptoms.
If you're sure it IS the piriformis, why haven't you gotten the hip back in alignment? It can be pretty hard for the area to heal if things are out of wack.
A good PT should be able to align your hip
Also if you've been in this much pain for so long, I'm surprised a doctor hasn't ordered an MRI to see if there might be something else going.
My recommendation is to find a good sports-oriented Ortho in your area (ask around at your gym).
