E46 M3 Radiator and cooling system retrofit into 1999 323i with m54b30. Possible?

Hey guys, looking for some guidance.

In the e36 m3 world, it is common to swap the s54 z3 radiator in for an upgrade from 34mm to around 42mm core. Direct bolt in. No problems. I even remote mounted an aluminum moroso reservoir I pieced together.

Which leads me to my current question:

Can the same kind of thing be done in the e46 sedan by using the stock m3 radiator and reservoir setup?

This is for a mildly built m54b30 plus I'm going to add a turbo to this car hopefully by the end of the year. My e36 m3 was tuned and turbod on e85 all on my own with the stock dme.

I want to run behr or similar brand oem quality radiator and probably another aluminum reservoir in the "battery" hole in the engine bay.

Will the e46 sedan electric fan shroud slide in and mount properly?

Yes, this can be done. You will need to place your overflow/expansion tank in the "drug bin" or delete your SAP. If you delete the SAP, you can place the oem m3 tank on that shock tower. Depending on what you are trying to achieve you can, swap all the m3 sap, overflow tank, and windshield washing tank. The shroud will not fit as the radiator has different dimensions, this is where it gets pricey...You can source a z3 m3 s54b32 efan/shroud for an oem option.. however. It is better to go with this mount N15 E fan mount, or Condor speed mounts. Add spal fan lil wiring done. Next?

Ok. Good to know.

Basically I was going to make my own coolant reservoir in the coolant jug bin, use the m3 radiator, make some hoses work, and probably get that s54 z3 electronic fan. If it uses the same setup as the e46 for speed regulation etc
