True coilovers in a vert

My car is an '01 330ci vert and I'm looking into a true coilovers setup. I'm swapping my rear for an m3 rear caliper to caliper. I was planning on doing coilover conversion while I had the entire rear end and suspension apart. Kinda leaning towards the Godspeed kit with tubular upper control arms. I know that there is usually a substantial amount of reinforcement that goes into doing it the right way, but I can't find any information for convertibles. Knowing that convertibles don't generally have the same subframe and shock tower issues that coupes and sedans run into... can a convertible handle true coils? I've never heard of anybody trying to set up a kit like that on a vert. Anybody have any information or advice on this?
