doubtful BMW was this tricky, but maybe it has to be set to Km (to be seen) and then itíll flip to 000,001 km. so that way someone in km doesnít say that weíre aware it had flipped.
but itís more likely as youíve found that itís stopping because there isnít a 7th digit to take in km.
Iím wondering if BMW could program it to 621,374 if it would override the km lock-up and continue on itís way.
if nothing else BMW will provide a document with a new odometer that the reading is higher.

congrats and good luck

I have friend who had the same issue with his motorcycle. What he did was buy a used cluster with low mileage and now he just does a calculation to know his mileage. Simple add and substract.

isn't the true mileage stored somewhere on the ECM?

Amazing! I think you might have to go the route of documenting your own mileage from now on. Make sure you get a notary or someone of authority to sign off on your logs so that when you hit the 1 million mark there is a verified paper chain. It will make it that much more valuable. Please keep us posted.

Your engine now deserves a good rebuild, which will take care of both the oil consumption and the leaks...

Please contact BMW NA. They'll want to know, or go into a dealer and ask them what to do.

and post the results here!

I already did that. bmwna gave me a polite political reply to my email directing me to dealer. The dealer said they would get back to me in a day or two its been 5 days. I'll give the dealer another week then I will politely tell bmwna that the dealer "blew me off".

I say we start an email campaign for Kburger.

Nothing like some grassroots publicity!

i agree a photo would be nice (POIDH mentioned above). but i have a feeling bmw would rather your car died at 100k so you would buy a new one every few years.

to be fair the ďcompositeĒ impeller is same material used in radiator housing and hose couplings.

This. kburger, can you hook your car up to PAsoft (or are you near someone who can) to read the mileage from the cluster and LCM?
