Which Manual Trans. Fluid ??

I ordered Redline 75W90 GL-5 gear oil from ECS...they had worded it for "some" manual transmissions.
Is this recommended to use in my manual trans?
Or does it need to be a (GL-4 type) Such as Redline D4 ATF (GL-4)?
Which they don't sell. Napa has some Pentosin type I think...

I'd like to change it this weekend, but don't want to put the wrong stuff in.

The Getrag 6-speed in the M3 requires a 75W-80 GL-4 fluid because it has "yellow metal" synchros. Most GL-5 fluids are not yellow metal friendly.

Self Serving Note: I have two bottles of Pentosin MTF-2 GL4 I no longer need. They are yours for $40 plus shipping. Call/text (314) 249-3770.

I queried many of the OEM's about this a few years ago.
The video below (shameless plug) will tell you everything you need to know.

In conversations with many shops, seems as some folks were using certain GL-5 fluids that possibly could cause harm to the synchromesh.

FWIW the dealer & Pentosin do sell GL-4.

ECS is a business. They don't give a crap about your car. Don't trust websites, ESPECIALLY ECStuning. I buy from them but the marketing doesn't know crap about our car.

For reference, a spreadsheet of all the 75W-80 synthetic transmission fluids I could track down. Hope this helps.
