What company did your driveshaft? Need one for my T56 (non-magnum) to M3 rear. Also, did you do anything the the M3 rear to prep it for that much HP/TQ?

I found a flange that worked online and had a local driveshaft shop make the rest of the shaft. I would not recommend this setup. It seems like a weak link and it doesn't center itself correctly which is giving me a vibration. Also to be honest I am surprised it hasn't failed yet.

The M3 rear is completely oem. It seems to be doing fine. Not sure how it would like a manual trans in front of it.

Ill be swapping in a Ford 8.8 shortly.

Thanks for the heads up on the DS. That gives me hope on the stock M3 rear. My car is being built for road course work so most of the time power hits will be from a roll anyway. And it's not going to be making near the power yours makes.

I would love to know how you got the 4L80E in the transmission tunnel. I am working on the same project but with a 4L60E and that is taking some tunnel hammering to make it fit.

Hammer, a lot. Cut the front part of the frame rails off to clear the shifter mechanism. It sucked and still barely enough room.

I have been considering doing a LM33 + turbo to my '00 323Ci...

I have a normally aspirated LS3+TR6060 six-speed going into a '03 325Ci at the moment, and the current plan is to supercharge a BMW M52tu or M54 in the '00 to maintain the automatic transmission. I'm not married to that idea yet, and want to maintain an automatic transmission in the '00, so your project has my interest. (7P's apply - Proper Planning and Preparation Prevent Piss Poor Performance on a project like this...)

Questions:
-I didn't see an A/C compressor in the photos; Did you retain the air conditioning?
-How brutal was the hammering of the transmission tunnel? After doing it (and having insight into what was required), do you think a 6L80e would fit if the tunnel was cut/welded?

Thanks,

Dan B
