My 2 Car Garage Makeover

I thought I'd add this thread here, its also over at the garage journal forum, but this is my true home forum

So after almost 4 years of home ownership, I recently got around to working on my garage. Nothing like a little procrastination..

Nothing special but a decent 2 car 20 x 20 in size.

Here is how it all started the day we got the keys. All this crap left by the previous owners.

So the night we moved in, I cleaned up all his junk. Removed the shelves off the walls and threw a fresh coat of kilz on the walls to clean it up.

I moved a bunch of stuff in there, added a few free standing shelves to hold my junk, and parked my cars in there..

Then.. boom, I decided it was time.. Since the beginning I have had this rudimentary drawing my wife made that showed how we thought it could look with cabinets and what not and some color samples I had chosen and hung on the wall in 2010 that had my basic plans for the space.

After clearing the garage out and parking the cars outside, I began to paint..

Wanted to do a red stripe.. and just went from there.

Ordered some custom flake for the floors, once those arrived, I began the epoxy process.. clean, dry, etch, clean, dry, paint, flake, dry, clear, dry..wait wait wait.. etc..

After a couple days it looked great. Even manage to preserve a mosquito.. bastard

In the mean time while paint was drying, I spent many hours assembling my new Gladiator cabinets. It was an exhausting process. But I got them all done and once the floors had dried, I moved them in..

Purchased some more wall organizing stuff, and tried to find a place for most things. Bought more along the way and added as time went by

Added some radiant barrier to the back of the garage door. Hopefully it helps cool it down a few degrees when the sun is baking it down here in S. FL

Decided to add more gladiator storage for more of my equipment, taking advantage of all my time off to finish up little projects. A few more gladiator wall mounting panels went up to get anything off the floor and out of the way.

all was going so well, but then you started putting shovels & crap on the walls. I woulda left that crap for a shed in the backyard, but that's jus me.

(don't take my post negatively, it's jus my opinion.)
